What do “should” and “shouldn’t” mean?


We use should to give advice or say what is a good idea.
We use shouldn’t to say something is not a good idea.


1. Positive Sentences with Should


Form:
Subject + should + base verb


Examples:

  • I should sleep early.

  • You should eat healthy food.

  • We should help our friends.

2. Negative Sentences with Shouldn’t


Form:
Subject + shouldn’t + base verb


Examples:

  • He shouldn’t watch too much TV.

  • They shouldn’t be late.

  • You shouldn’t skip school.

📝 Use the base form of the verb after “should” and “shouldn’t.”
